Modalities: While Andrea is a certified DBT therapist, her approach is psychodynamic, and she often draws from a variety of theoretical practices that include Internal Family Systems, grief and loss, Cognitive Behavioral, attachment, neuroscience and trauma informed.

Experience: 

Andrea brings a wealth of experience supporting teens, young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, grief, depression and co-dependency. Andrea offers Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for teens and adults, and has completed Marsha Linnehan’s 16 week DBT Foundational Course. Andrea also has extensive training and experience supporting people and families dealing with alcohol related challenges. She worked for several years at Kara (Grief Support Services) and has extensive training and experience supporting individuals and families through grief, the aftermath of traumatic loss such as maternal loss, accidents and suicide. 

Most of all, Andrea brings her steady warmth and compassionate heart to each moment with her clients, and believes that the caring relationship itself is a doorway for healing.

Background:

An exceptional bereavement therapist, Andrea worked for several years at Kara (Grief Support Services) and has extensive training and experience supporting individuals, families and communities as they move through grief and loss. 

Through her work at Camden Center, a center specializing in supporting people navigating challenging behaviors related to alcohol and other substance-related issues, she has a wealth of experience supporting clients and their families issues related to co-dependency.

Andrea has served as the clinical coordinator at Abilities United and has helped hundreds of families embrace and thrive with a child and/or adult child with special needs. 

Andrea is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher, and can empower you with a wide range of mindfulness-based tools to help you cope with challenging situations.
