“This was the best work environment I could have hoped for. Everyone at MCAFT has been so kind and supportive. I really couldn’t have asked for a better place to work, learn and grow.” - Sarah Neiswender

Mindful Child & Family Therapy is committed to empowering children, teens, parents and families with tools to navigate the stress of life with a sense of competence and increased ease. Our clinicians help clients become more in touch with their deepest sense of self and feel more empowered to live an authentic and fulfilling life. We also equip clients and their families with effective communication tools to help nurture the most important relationships in their lives.

Our Mission

MCAFT’s mission is to promote emotional wholeness, interpersonal wellness and overall wellbeing in our clients. Our organization supports clients, therapists, and our greater community. In addition to supporting clients, we hope to help therapists be the best they can be, find their authentic expression as counselors and achieve their highest potential in serving others. We also provide our therapists with opportunities for self care, self growth and self discovery. We hope to make the community a better place by providing excellent therapy for our clients, facilitating Self-leadership, promoting positive interpersonal interactions and by offering educational / training opportunities to help everyone in the community learn and grow together.

We invite you to work with us

Our heart-centered group practice is looking for Associates (AMFT, ASW, APCC and Psychology Associates are all welcome) as well as Licensed therapists to join our warm and supportive team of clinicians. We offer flexible, part time work. Part time is anywhere from 15 to 30 face-to-face client hours per week, and therapists have a great deal of autonomy over their own schedule. However, we do ask for at least 8 after school hours (after 4pm) and/or 8 hrs on the weekend in order to support the high amount of children & teens referrals that come our way. Thank you for understanding that our minimum is 15 hours a week, with at least 8 of those hours after 4pm (divided up among multiple days) or on the weekend.

We care deeply about our clinicians

We treat our clinicians as people first, clinicians second. We encourage self-care and a healthy work-life balance. We help our therapists attune to their own internal systems as they support others. We encourage our therapists to continually assess their work-life balance so it is in alignment with their deepest values. We are deeply committed to helping our therapists grow - both personally and professionally.

We offer competitive rates

Compensation is based on education, experience and caseload. Here are general ranges:
  • Associate (Master’s Level / MA): $40-$70 / hr
  • Associate (PhD): $70-$100 / hr
  • Licensed (MA): $75-100 /hr
  • Licensed (PhD): $95-$150 / hr (depending on rate charged to clients)

We care about our team culture

We offer a supportive, collaborative and encouraging team culture. Our clinicians care about each other, and know the value of taking the time to nurture our connections as colleagues. We hire people who like to discover, learn & grow, so we provide growth opportunities within our organization, from leadership roles to training opportunities. We also provide ongoing training, including introduction to and ongoing consultation in Internal Family Systems. Supervision & Consultation: We offer weekly Consultation (group) and Supervision (dyadic or triadic) towards licensure hours. MCAFT is currently providing services in a hybrid model of support – telehealth and/or in-person, which facilitates a flexible model of work from home or work on-site, depending on your preference. Currently, all staff meetings & consultations are via telehealth platforms; Supervision of Associates is in person (unless Associates need / prefer to meet via telehealth). Primary Duties & Responsibilities as follows: Attend consultations, supervisory meetings, and assist with supervision based on qualification and experience. Meet regularly with the Clinical Supervisor and/or the Director to address clinical or programmatic concerns. Collaborate with staff and community partners to build supportive relationships. Maintain up to date records, charting accurately and conforming to legal and ethical standards. Engage in the team culture in supportive, caring and attuned ways. Actively participate in training programs prescribed to by Mindful Child & Family Therapy, including Internal Family Systems and other training as becomes applicable. Background & Experience: Masters degree in counseling psychology, social work or clinical psychology and license or license eligible (Associate working towards licensure) required. Experience providing psychotherapeutic work with children and / or teens and their families as well as knowledge of early childhood development is strongly preferred. Training in or personal experiences with EMDR and / or Internal Family Systems is a wonderful asset.
